Pupil Premium Grant Expenditure Report to Governors and Parents

The Pupil Premium is an allocation of funding provided to schools to support children who may be vulnerable to underachievement. The funding is allocated to schools based on the number of students on roll known to currently be eligible for Free School Meals or who have claimed within the last six years, as well as children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months by the local authority. Children of members of the armed forces are also entitled to this funding. All schools are required to report on the amount of funding and how this is being used.

Principles

The teaching and learning at Hollington Primary School is organised to meet the needs of all children in the best way. Some of the funding is allocated to ensure all children have their needs met through quality first teaching. We ensure that appropriate provision is made for children who belong to vulnerable groups and that our socially disadvantaged children have their needs adequately assessed and met. We further support these groups using many strategies that are beyond the remit of the expenditure report.

We recognise that not all children who receive the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) will be socially disadvantaged and we also recognise that not all children that are disadvantaged receive the Pupil Premium Grant. Given this we will carefully track how well Pupil Premium Grant children are Achieving as a group compared to their peers at Hollington Primary School and nationally.

Pupil Premium Money has been carefully spent and tracked at The Pioneer Academy. We ensure that there is a whole school focus on continuing to close the gap in attainment and achievement between Ever 6 pupils (Children who have been eligible for free school meals within the last six years and looked after children) and Non-Ever 6 pupils.
